We speak so many things throughout the day. Why then, does the Holy Name appear heavy on our tongue some of the times? How can the Holy Name dance on our tongues making it a daily festival?
Generally, we wish to get our rounds done in the least amount of time. Once, our rounds are done, we may not even glance at our bead bags. The goal of life is to move from “less-time” chanting to timeless chanting. Then, Krishna will become pleased to take us to His timeless abode.
Just as Harry had a Magic Wand in his life, we have got the Holy Name. The Holy Name’s Magic goes way beyond the magic of this world. It can lift us to the spiritual world and grant us eternal association of Krishna.
Why is my chanting inattentive? There may be a multiple reasons for the same, but the root cause is lack of humility. Only when we become impoverished can the nectar of Holy Name
Holy Name is very sweet. But, unfortunate as we are, have created a dam or wall of our own aspirations, desires and so on, and are therefore unable to hear the Holy Name. Breaking the barriers is essential for the Holy Name to enter the ears and consquently in the heart.
Today is the disappearance day of Śrīla Sanātana Gosvāmī, and it is also celebrated as Guru Purṇimā. What did Sanātana value as the greatest thing in his life?
Srila Prabhupada gave a very beautiful definition of chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. He said that while chanting, we are begging Radha and Krishna to engage us in Their service. Why can’t we only serve if we have chanted enough? Why should we chant more and more if service is the ultimate goal?
