In the modern world, seeing one another is highly emphasized. How can a boy and girl marry without seeing each other? It seems impossible. But if love is dependent on seeing, why do couples who keep intently gazing at each other’s faces for the whole day get separated? Can we truly love those whom we haven’t seen?
Some Reflections on my recent reading, or screening of Srimad Bhagavatam.
Srila Prabhupada gave a very beautiful definition of chanting the Hare Krishna mantra. He said that while chanting, we are begging Radha and Krishna to engage us in Their service. Why can’t we only serve if we have chanted enough? Why should we chant more and more if service is the ultimate goal?
Attachment between man and a woman forms a tight knot in the heart. We have intensified this knot through lifetimes of indulgence. What are the dangers of subtle gratification? How can we untie this knot, and not miss the bus back to Godhead?
