Although Srimad Bhagavatam is meant for establishing the supremacy of Krishna, inherently the supremacy of devotees gets established by Krishna’s own behaviour with devotees. Devotees of the Lord are greater than even the demigods, holy places, holy tirthas and even the Supreme Lord Himself.
Krishna’s immense appreciation for His devotees should inspire us to develop similar feelings of affection and worship for devotees. After all, devotee’s darshan should be in line with Krishna’s darshan.
The Supreme Lord functions in this world through the medium of His energies. There are unlimited energies of the Lord which have been categorized into three primary ones – internal energy, external energy and the marginal energy. What is the means to get out of the flare of external energy?
A heart tainted with faults of a Vaishnava due to envious attitude can never have the right darshan of a Vaishnava, what to speak of Lord’s darshan. Such a person, even if placed amongst the best of devotees, will only be like a crow. Duryodhana is the best example.
Should we desire Credits for our own work, or should we desire Krishna? Does a Vaishnava take any credit for himself or herself?
What is the greatest fortune in bhakti? When we learn the same from devotees in Srimad Bhagavatam, we can truly understand. By our own mind and senses, we may consider fortune to be misfortune and misfortune to be fortune. The exalted devotees of the Lord help us understand when can we truly consider ourselves fortunate.
As our material infection reduces, to that degree we are able to see the greatness in a Vaishnava. Following a Vaishnava is not just subscribing him, but to really understand what is in his or heart. That requires grace of the Lord.
