As our material infection reduces, to that degree we are able to see the greatness in a Vaishnava. Following a Vaishnava is not just subscribing him, but to really understand what is in his or heart. That requires grace of the Lord.
Devotees glance can infuse spiritual desires in our hearts, it can enthuse us to go on in Krishna Consciousness, and even if due to limitations of material world we are not able to receive their merciful glance, even their darsana can help us advance in bhakti.
